Knesset passes pro-slavery bill

In the law that passed on May 16th, the Knesset reinstated the binding arrangement of migrant workers to their employers, and in a harsher and more restrictive version than the one nullified by the Supreme Court five years ago. Kav laOved plans to petition the Supreme Court again on this issue, and request that the bill is declared unconstitutional.

The Right to Homeland Visits

Despite a long legal struggle and some partia achievements, migrant caregivers are systematically denied the right to visit their homelands between jobs, when they are most free to do so. This policy is designed to drive migrant workers out, so other, mediation fee paying workers, can be brought to replace them.

A migrant worker fell ill with tuberculosis. The Ministry of interior attempted to have her deported. Kav LaOved's legal intervention reinstated the worker.
